Me.I have been drawing and painting since I was a child proudly born and raised in Portsmouth, VA. My mother was avid in crafting and making school aged projects while my father performed music. I was heavily influenced and bound to indulge in the arts somehow. There was a time when I was drawing and designing every free minute of the day. Unfortunately, life events slowly snuffed the creativity candle out and I began to focus on the success of making it in the “rat race” of adulthood and business. Daily, I would question what would it take to really make my mind and heart feel happy. I would also ask myself why was I sitting idle and harboring this hunger to make strides in the creative field where happiness would be sure to accompany me.
I am not considered to be “classically trained” via an educational institution of the Arts so it can be a bit intimidating. I attended the illustrious HBCU Norfolk State University for Business Marketing so I fear sparring words with someone who can quote every artist from the Guggenheim museum corridors versus myself who has not even visited yet (I'll get there). Regardless of the artistic educational structure, my core belief is that true artists are not always formally trained and WE have it in our hearts. I wear my artistry on my sleeve daily.
Muses — Personal Helpers, Healers & Guides
I note and dedicate everything to this section because there are Saints and Goddesses within my life that I look to for influence, guidance, encouragement, love, corrections and strength. At times where I feel weak or that the world is too heavy, my Muses are always there to grab my hand to move with me through it...especially CDWx2. I love you both dearly.
